W9XHZ was an AM radio station in Bloomington, Indiana founded in May 1946 by Sarkes Tarzian. The station operated on a higher-than-normal frequency to which existing AM radios could not tune, and so Tarzian modified radios to distribute to W9XHZ listeners.
